Who are Kawakawa Hammer Hardware?
Kawakawa , where the train runs down the main street, steeped in history of years gone by supplying flax for rope and coal for paddle steamers in the early 1900's.
Harrison Hardware TrueValue opened in 1973, with Maurice Harrison as owner, he ran the store till his retirement in 1994 when Malcolm Francis the now present owner bought the business trading as Mitre 10, since then the store rebranded as Kawakawa Hammer Hardware, still part of the Mitre 10 group.
The store boasts a wide range of gardening and hardware supplies, plumbing, power tools, hand tools, stationery supplies, automotive, electrical, housewares, paint, and much more.
If we haven't got it, which is unlikely, we can source it for you, we do our best to help locals get what they need.
We also have Lotto on-site, hence the Wednesday/ Saturday trading hours.
